About

I am an experienced educator, learning specialist and writer, with curiosity for just about everything – and especially for people and how they think, learn and communicate.  As a Learning Specialist at the University of New England, I teach academic skills courses and workshops and provide direct academic support to students in the Student Academic Success Center (SASC).  Through my work I promote the habits of mind and academic skills people need to be successful in school and in life.

My highest priority as an educator is to help students prioritize and individualize their own version of success for themselves, with presence for and attention to what most deeply motivates them, toward greater creativity.  On this site you will find resources on academic and self-management strategies I have personally found helpful – and that students tell me help them the most. You will also find information about, and activities related to, my course, Opportunities for Success, and resources relevant to workshops I have facilitated.

This online portfolio represents a dynamic space dedicated to creativity, vulnerability, and a commitment to learning as practical, joyful and lifelong. Should I meet you in person, it represents just a piece of our broader conversations together, face-to-face, in real time – or it might help to expand our conversations, or make them more meaningful. I look forward to learning from and with you.
